Tranby Croft Scandal
11th September 1890: A group of society figures at Tranby Croft, the country home of Sir Arthur Wilson, at the time of the Royal Baccarat Scandal, 11th September 1890. Amongst them are Sir William Gordon-Cumming (1848 - 1930), who was accused of cheating at baccarat, as well as Lycett Green and his wife, Captain Berkeley Levett, Arthur Wilson and Mrs Wilson, Lord Coventry and Lord Somerset, who were all sued for defamation by Sir Gordon-Cumming following the scandal.
